Hi my name is Paula Tansey. I first joined Phillyfit in the spring of 2008. 6 months later with the help of the coaching and encouragement I received from this group I finished my first marathon. I was hooked on running and addicted to the friends I had made. This year I look forward to bringing new and old friends together for an exciting and rewarding season.

Core Coach
Maggi Buckler  core@phillyfit.net
Head Coach
Hi! My name is Maggi, and this is my third season running and training with this amazing, supportive and inspiring group. I completed the Philadelphia Half-Marathon with PhillyFit in both 2010 and 2011; this year, I am challenging myself to complete three more half-marathons. (If all goes well, I will have my first half-marathon of 2012 under my Asics by the time the PhillyFit season starts in May!)

This is my first season as a coach with the group. As Core Coach, I will augment our training program with a focus on core strength, by providing tips and brief seminars, and being available for questions. Look for some fun* challenges throughout the season!

*Fair warning: some people think I have a strange idea of \"fun\".
Nutrition Coach
Kristie McCourt  nutrition@phillyfit.net
Head Coach
I started to run in 2003 when a friend suggested a marathon to raise money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. I love a good challenge and I love a good cause so I figured why not! I have since run three full marathons, and many halves, with USAFITPhilly, and served as assistant coach to the yellow group last season.

Six years ago I started having unexplainable health issues that affected my running and my daily life. I decided to study health and nutrition at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in NY. I fell in love with the material and decided I wanted to combine my passion for running with my newfound passion for nutrition to act as a resource for others.

This season I am here to answer all of your nutrition questions, to share some tips on fueling for runs, and to address whatever the group wants to learn. I am a certified health counselor who loves to talk food, running, and yoga!

I am excited to be the nutrition coach for USAFit Philly this season and look forward to meeting new faces and running with old friends. This is an amazing group and I feel privileged to be a part of the experience.

If you would like to find out more about me and what I do, or where I studied, feel free to check out my website.

Yellow Group
John Carre  yellow@phillyfit.net
Head Coach
Hi, my name is John Carre (car-ray). I am a bicyclist turned runner. I had bicycled many miles in the past, but never could get into running more than a couple of miles. In February 2010, I found USAFit Philly at the Oaks Endurance Sports Expo. Since I had read Born to Run earlier that winter, I got the impression that running could be enjoyable. I joined PhillyFit that Spring and sure enough running became fun and challenging. The coaches and encouragement of the group inspired me to try my 1st half marathon & 1st marathon that Fall. Last year was another memorable journey with PhillyFit with many more running events. I am looking forward to coaching the Yellow Group runners this year. Let\'s enjoy running and reaching our goals together!
Orange Group
Mark Diehl  red-orange@phillyfit.net
Head Coach
Hi! My name is Mark Diehl. I started training with Philly Fit in 2004 to run my first marathon. I had run many races 5K, 10K and several Half Marathons prior to this and finally decided to attempt a marathon. I tried training alone and was never able to consistently get the long training runs completed. With the assistance of Philly Fit in 2004 I was able to complete the Philadelphia Marathon. After training with Philly Fit for several years and completing several marathons, I was asked to be a coach and I have enjoyed doing this for the past several seasons. I would not have been able to complete nine marathons without the support of this group. I\'m looking forward to helping others this season run their first 1/2 marathon or Marathon. You will not find a more friendly or encouraging group to help you meet your running goals.
